Search Alerts extension not sending emails

I have successfully installed the “Search Alerts” plugin, and from what I can tell it seems to mostly be working. If I got to the “Searches” section in Settings for any saved alerts I’ve set up and click the eye, I can see the results. And if I add new listings from another vendor profile, they will show up. However:

  1. When I refresh the home page or sign in, there isn’t any notification badge on the top or the Searches section in settings showing that there’s new results/alerts. Is there supposed to be?

  2. The most important problem, none of my test profiles are receiving any email notifications that a new listing has been added that matches their search alerts.

Steps to reproduce

Use multiple test profiles with different email addresses from different email services (both iCloud & Gmail) to set up search alerts. Use other profiles to add listings to the site that match those search alerts.

Actual result

The listings show up in the “Searches” section on settings but no email notification is received.

Expected result

An email notification that a new listing has been added that matches a search alert I’ve set up.

Extra details

I have tried searching this site and the only related topic I can find mentions checking cron jobs. I installed the cron jobs plugin, and the jobs that it lists seem to be working fine. But I don’t really know what I’m looking for. There’s not a custom cron job in there that seems related to search-results so I just don’t know what I’m looking for there.

I should also note that the rest of my emails seem to be working fine. New users are successfully getting system emails like account verification. And emails for new listings are still showing up to my admin email account. I’m using yaysmtp with gmail as my service provider.

Hi,

  1. Unfortunately, there are no on-site notifications, but thank you for your suggestion, we will consider adding this feature.

  2. If you have SMTP with the logs feature installed, then check if there was an attempt to send such an email. If you don’t receive specific emails, you may have a setting that prevents sending such emails by the subject. Also, please note that you should receive an email if you have selected the desired Search Alert and then added a new listing or request, depending on what the alert is for, then you need to wait one hour and you should receive an email.

I hope this is helpful to you.
