Hi, I have an events site and they are generally available as a one-off for 1 or a few days. I have read that it is not possible to choose start and end dates with the bookings extension, but that there is a workaround using the fields booking offset and booking window.
I have one event on the 13th of August and another one on the 19th of the same month, both available for 1 day only. My goal is that users searching by date (i.e. from the 10th to the 20th of August), see my 2 events on the search/listings results.
Would the following values be ok?
For event on 13 August
Booking offset: 65 (today is 9th of June)
Booking window: 1
Min booking duration: 86400
Max booking duration: 86400
Booking available from: 0
Booking available to: 86399
For event on 19 August
Booking offset: 71 (today is 9th of June)
Booking window: 1
Min booking duration: 86400
Max booking duration: 86400
Booking available from: 0
Booking available to: 86399
I uploaded 2 listings with the values above and activated search by date (I added “Dates” as a “Default field” under “Search” in “Settings”). Then, in the search bar, I selected the dates between the 10th and the 20th of August. The problems I encountered are 2:
- The search engine starts searching as shown by the circular icon in the search button
- Nothing else happens. It stops searching and just stays on the homepage
Can you confirm if the shared values are correct? and why the search engine gets stuck searching?
