I have made a listing website for my client using ListingHive. SEO Manager wants me to change searchbar results when looking for listing by categories. For example, I want to search for “AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER Amstaff” listings. When i pick this category from searchbar, the result link is: Wyniki wyszukiwania "" - e-rasowy.pl.
Right now this is unacceptable and affects our SEO greatly. Please tell me how to change it so it shows categories correctly. One would think, that If categories are added to searchbar in HivePress Settings it would show said categories, not filtered search results.
Please note that this is the scope of the SEO plugin. If there are no such settings there, then as a workaround you can create static pages in WP Dashboard > Pages for each category, and use the listings block by category and the View all button. Also, please note that HivePress simply uses WP search and that’s why you see keyword-based titles.
From our side, we will consider adding such a feature.
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. When I create all 400 pages for each category, how can I connect them with search engine so when user choses a category through search bar it will show him a category page created by me (with good SEO friendly link) instead of usual search results (with SEO unfriendly link)? I ask because for now i don’t see how I could make pages as search results in HivePress.
Unfortunately, there is no simple solution for this, it requires a custom implementation. Clicking on the filter or search button will always redirect you to the search page, even if you select the only option for the Categories filter. But please note that these pages will still fulfill their SEO purpose, because their links will be directed to these URLs, for example, and users on the site will use search.
If you are familiar with coding, we can provide a code snippet to make such a redirect, but please note that you do not need to create these pages if you mean category pages, because each category has almost its own page with a header if you click in WP Dashboard > Listings > Categories > View page next to any category.
