Stripe Connect ToS Error — Australian Platform Creating Australian Connected Accounts

Hi HivePress Support,

I’m building a peer-to-peer equipment hire marketplace in Australia using RentalHive theme with HivePress Marketplace. When an owner (vendor) tries to connect their Stripe account during listing submission, I receive the following error:

"The recipient ToS agreement is not supported for platforms in AU creating accounts in AU. See Cross-border payouts | Stripe Documentation for more details."

My setup:

  • HivePress + RentalHive theme

  • HivePress Marketplace (latest version)

  • WooCommerce installed and active

  • Stripe platform account registered in Australia

  • Vendors are Australian-based

  • Payout system: Stripe Connect

  • WordPress hosted on Hostinger

What I’ve checked:

  • Stripe Connect settings show “Let accounts receive funds from your business” enabled for Australia

  • API keys are correctly entered in HivePress → Integrations → Stripe

  • Google Maps and all other integrations are working correctly

Questions:

  1. Is there a known fix or patch for this AU → AU Stripe Connect ToS error?

  2. Should I be using a specific Stripe Connect account type (Express vs Standard vs Custom) for Australian platforms?

  3. Is there a recommended payment configuration for Australian HivePress Marketplace operators?

  4. Is this fixed in a specific version of HivePress Marketplace?

I have temporarily switched to Manual payouts to keep building but need Stripe Connect working before launch.

Thank you

Sandro

Hi Sandro,

Please make sure that in your WooCommerce settings, the store address is also set to Australia, because the parameter causing the error is only added when the store location (specified in WooCommerce) is set to the USA: Loom | Free Screen & Video Recording Software | Loom. You might have missed updating this in the WooCommerce settings.

Let me know if this resolves the issue.

Yes, this resolved it - thank you
