Subcategories don't show when editing a listing

I was trying to edit a listing that was in a parent category called “Food” - I wanted to assign it to a subcategory, “Food→Desserts”. When I clicked on the pull down, the subcategories didn’t show up under Food. I then realized they won’t show if the listing is already assigned to the parent. So I had to:

  1. Unassign the category

  2. Then click FOOD again, and its subcategories appeared

This is an extra step/click we could do without :frowning:

Thank you for the details. This UX issue occurs when adding a subcategory to an existing category that’s already assigned to a listing. We’ll improve this in future updates. For now, the workaround is to first select a different category and then reselect the desired one, this will trigger the subcategory selection properly.
