Hi, i’m using hivepress with the listing hive theme, i almost completed my entire webpage, i was creating listing packages when i realised that i needed to publish a couple page for woocommerce to work (checkout and cart), i put those pages in the bin because i didn’t know i needed them, the moment i published those pages my home paged changed drastically, and all my work (only in the homepage) was erased, all the other pages are ok, the menus are ok, everything is ok except my homepage that lools like this right now:
Any idea of what has happened and if i can recover my original homepage? it’s not much of a big problem, i can just make it again in a day, but it worries me it could do the same thing again or to lose all my previous work by touching something i shouldn’t. By the way, the only thing that didn’t change was the image that appears in that pic, that one is mine.
If you did not change WooCommerce settings after installation, then this issue cannot be caused as it only affects the payment and checkout page. Please disable third-party plugins and customizations (if there are any) and check if this issue persists. If you use a caching plugin, make sure that caching is disabled for logged-in users.
Well, where do i start, i have a caching plugin (Lite speed cache) but has been inactive since i stated developing the page (and it will be a good thing if you people could tell me beforehand if activating it will completely obliterate my page and create a quantum blackhole that will suck up two months of my work), i have a few more third party plugins, mostly wp forms lite, bulk press, hide loging, cookie yes and that’s that, plugins that have nothing to do with any of this and work fine. Everything was working fine until i retrieved from the bin the checkout and cart woocommerce pages that i throwed away because it wasn’t specified in any of your “informative” videos that i needed those to stablish listing packages, it may have been obvious for someone with knowledge about webpage building but i have zilch idea about it (and so do most people starting a web on their own instead of spending hundreds of dollars/euros into a professional), but that’s not the point.
Then i got into elementor while editing the homepage, i mistake i always commit, could this be the cause? There is three ways of editing the pages for me, with the wordpress editor, with elementor and with the little paintbrush in the top (i’m spanish, i don’t know how you call that thing), the homepage could only be edited with that paintbrush thingy (and nothing speciall beyond menus, widgets and header). Another thing, i have another page (in my webpage) with the listing categories block, today i found out the listings block below it is no more, i don’t know if this happened yesterday and i didn’t notice it or it was today, any answer of WHY this is happening? or i’m going to suffer my webpage being dismantled one step at a time due to some freakish retarded programming incident i can’t figure out?
All right, i made a copy of the home page with EA duplicator (or whatever is called in english, one of the options on the little bar to edit pages) and with the wordpress editor EVERYTHING IS THERE , I CAN SEE IT, everything i put before the original published homepage decide to go wackarooo, so what the hell is happening and how can i restablish all that? i don’t want to do anything wrong, but i know it has to do with woocommerce plugin, and that godamn plugin is the only way i have to monetize my page.
Lets clarify things a little more , i have the published homepage with the stuff i showed you in the first pic, and then the same page duplicated in draft mode with all my original work previously done, the published page simply isn’t showing it, it did before the woocommerce thing, it doesn’t after it and using elementor (which again i usually don’t do, but it didn’t affect anything before the woocommerce cart and checkout page recovery).
I would like to point out i normally use the wordpress editor, i only use elementor for the simple pages like terms and conditions and such, but sometimes i press by accident in one or the other editor which it shouldn’t be a big deal, but i suppose that someone more tech savy here can tell me what the hell is happening.
NEVERMIND, PROBLEM SOLVED, it was just elementor acting funky, i changed to the wordpress editor, changed a letter in one of the text sections, updated the page and now everyhting is there again…Jesus Chist i’m starting to hate a little too much all this stuff, though an answer to understand what kind of esoteric mechanisms were operating here would be very welcomed.
