Currently, vendors manage their calendars on an individual listing-basis if they want to block any days or times where the listing isn’t available.
I’d like to propose the idea that instead of managing this on an individual listing-basis, the buttons to block days or times is moved to the Vendor’s main calendar page, and any blocked dates or times would then be synced to each individual listing’s calendar. (Rather than having to update each listing/calendar with blocked dates individually)
Would this require a lot of customisation, or could a snippet or two be able to help achieve this?
Update: I gave the HivePress AI my question, and, it helped me understand this is actually already possible. It’s just the setting in the backend doesn’t make it very clear what the option enables.
Perhaps the option could be reworded, or a tool tip added.
Great news! This feature is already built into HivePress Bookings – no customization needed!
You can enable per-vendor availability management by going to:
HivePress > Settings > Bookings and checking the “Manage availability per vendor” option.
Once enabled:
Vendors will manage their availability from a single calendar in Account > Calendar (not per listing)
Any dates/times blocked in this calendar will apply to all of their listings
This prevents double-bookings when a vendor offers multiple services but can only provide one at a time
When to use this:
This is particularly useful when vendors are individuals offering different services (like tour guides, consultants, or service providers) where they can only be available for one booking at a time, regardless of which listing is booked.
Important note:
This is a global setting that affects all vendors on your site. Once enabled, all vendors will manage availability from their central calendar rather than per listing.
No snippets or custom development required – just enable the setting and you’re all set!
This feature is indeed available in HivePress > Bookings > Availability> Manage availability per vendor. We also have a prompt regarding this feature when hovering over the question mark. In any case, thank you for pointing this out. We will consider rephrasing it.
Apologies, regarding the lack of tooltips. I was on my phone at the time and I’ve just realised the tooltips section is missing whilst browsing on my phone, but I can, indeed, see it whilst looking on a desktop. (Not sure if this is a bug/intentional)
