Turn HivePress into a dynamic content plugin

Currently, HivePress is primarily positioned as a directory listing plugin. However, it already includes many of the core capabilities required to become a full-featured dynamic content plugin, similar to JetEngine or Toolset.

Dynamic content plugins empower WordPress to go far beyond directory websites, enabling it to function as a blog, online store, classifieds site, and much more. By limiting HivePress exclusively to directory sites, you’re targeting a relatively small market segment. Expanding its scope could elevate HivePress into a more versatile solution that appeals to a much broader audience.

To illustrate, here are examples of how dynamic content plugins can be used to build directory and classified sites:

I strongly encourage you to consider positioning HivePress as a dynamic content plugin rather than restricting it solely to directory functionality. This shift could significantly increase its adoption.

Thanks for your feedback, we’ll consider adding UI for creating content types, currently these types (like listing, vendor, etc) are defined in the code.

At the moment we’re focused on the marketplace/directory/classifieds niche and while the dynamic content plugin would cover more niches, the initial setup would require more time and efforts if there’s no pre-defined content types, fields, etc. for a specific niche. Also, HivePress framework itself is versatile and if you’re familiar with code or have a developer for custom work, it’s already possible to extend the functionality and define new content types if needed.
