Upgrading membership level

Hey,

is there a way to let a user upgrade their membership?

On my page, there are two levels: Standard and Premium. If a user purchased the Standard membership and later on decides they want the Premium membership, can they perform some sort of upgrade? Or must they simply purchase the Premium membership separately, effectively resulting in them having two memberships at the same time?

Sorry for the late reply.

If you have the Memberships extension you can simply remove or re-assign it for a user in WordPress/Memberships.

If users decide to upgrade, they can purchase the second membership, which will be active (until the first one expires). They’ll have access to features based on the combined restrictions of their current memberships.

Do I understand correctly that the second membership will only be active until the first one expires? I.e., a user purchased the basic membership on a yearly plan on January 1st, and the premium yearly plan on February 1st, then the premium plan will only be available until January 1st?

No, each membership will have it’s own expiration date, depending on the membership purchase date, the first one will not affect the second one, and the user will have the combined features of all currently active extensions (e.g. access to viewing the listing details).

Alright, that makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying!
