What permissions does the contributor role have?

Hi,

I am new to WordPress so bear with me. I see WordPress itself has varoius roles, (Admin, Editor, Author, Contributor, Subscriber). If I go to Settings in my WordPress Admin dashboard, I have it set for Membership = Anyone can Register, and New User Default Role to contributor. Is this the recommended role if these users are just going to be posting ads and viewing ads? I don’t want them to have any other controls of my wordpress.

Under HivePress settings, I see there is a Vendors tab. I have selected to not display Vendors on the front-end. And Under registration for vendors, I do not have direct registration checked.

Under HivePress settings for Users, I do have Display profiles on the front end, and allow user registration.

I’m creating an internal only craigslist-style website where employees can post ads in the website and others can view. So, I just need them to post ads and be able to view ads.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Travis

Hi,

A vendor (contributor) has all the same permissions as a regular user, but additionally has permission to publish listings.

I hope this is helpful to you.
