What’s to stop people going direct either before a commissioned sale or even after for repeat business (can’t stop that one).
I was thinking of allowing vendors to list for free for 24hours but if they want longer they pay more, and more again for featured.
Separate question but if a listing expires, can it be renewed or converted to premium or would vendor have to create a new one?

You can disable the Messages extension or hide the send button, but it all depends on the terms on your website. As for renewing listings and paying for them, I recommend using Paid Listings, where you can customize the expiration date of the listing and create packages, and if it expires after 24 hours, the vendor will need to pay again to continue the listing.
