There’s a bug after adding announcement attribute. Naming the field “status” makes it impossible to create and edit the announcement. The simplest solution to this problem is to block the ability to enter name “status” in this field.
Hi,
Thank you for the details.
The problem is caused by a conflict between the existing “status” field in HivePress and the attribute you created. You can resolve this by renaming your field with a prefix or something similar, e.g., “status_custom” or “ad_status”. Once the field name differs from the default HivePress status field, you’ll be able to enter any text in this attribute. Please see the screenshots #1 and #2 [the first field with the “publish” entry is the one named “status” that’s causing the conflict, the second one is from screenshot #1 with a unique field name, which works correctly.].
Hope I helped with your request.
Since the bug is known, I’d appreciate it if you could fix this field so it’s impossible to enter a all names that will conflict. New users like me have no idea which names are allowed and which ones will cause an error.
Hi,
Thank you for the information.
We’ll work on improving this UX issue and add a check to prevent custom fields from using the same names as built-in fields. In the meantime, please note that the following names are reserved and cannot be used for custom attributes: title, location, description, status, user, vendor, image, images.
